Usain Bolt as of 2009 in Berlin clocked the fastest ever speed in the 100 meter dash coming in at just 9.58 seconds. A maximum speed of 30 mph.
Built for speed, and trained to tweak every hundredth of a second off the clock that was possible.
A combination of training and genetics have made him the fastest ever. What’s the DNA of your business? What is your speed of solution to excellence in the market?
Most everyone, if they have finished at least the 6th grade are probably familiar with the story of “The Tortoise and The Hare” (a.k.a. The Turtle and The Rabbit).
The moral of the story is that consistent effort over time, can be as effective, if not more effective than just being super fast. In the case of the Tortoise and the Hare, the Tortoise won out because he never stopped.
However, today’s business environment has already changed and it is radically changing as we move forward. In 2012 Jason Jennings released a book entitled “… It’s not the Big that eat the Small … It’s the FAST that eat the SLOW.”
I’ve never read the book, but I get the point. In today’s competitive environment size is less relevant to the speed of solution. What is your business challenge in today’s market? What is the solution that you provide to the current consumer, whether business or residential.
If you cannot develop a market dominating strategy coupled with compelling offers, than you do NOT stand out from the crowded messaging of 3,000+ marketing messages every day.
The mark of excellence and elite status as a World Class sprinter is running the 100 meter dash in under 10 seconds.
What does elite status and excellence in performance look like in your market, or industry?
Enter the 50K50 challenge. I work hard with you to find $50,000 in untapped revenues, and unimplemented strategies to drive another $50,000 in topline revenues, as well as the hard work of optimizing expenses.
The reality is that you need the speed of a sprinter, and the endurance of a marathon runner, to be elite world class in today’s business environment.
If you look like everyone else in your (market) space, then why should anyone do business with you?
If you are relying on your good looks, wit and charm … even if you have all 3 in spades, then you are putting your business on the fast track to failure.
Good looks, wit and charm are important because people do business with those that they know, like and trust – but, if you cannot provide a solution with speed and excellence, I promise you – someone else will!
